DEADLINE EXTENDED Oriel Davies Open Writing Competition 2018: Crossed Paths

Open Writing Competition 2018 is inviting submissions of poetry and prose on the theme of Crossed Paths. The competition will once again be judged by former Young People’s Laureate Wales, Sophie McKeand, in collaboration with Newtown’s celebrated nature poet, Chris Kinsey.

We welcome submissions of up to a maximum of 50 lines of poetry or 1000 words of prose.  The competition is open to all and you can submit multiple pieces in either category. First prize winners will each receive a £50 voucher to spend in Oriel Davies’ shop.

The winning entries will feature on the Oriel Davies website and be read to an audience at an event 9th February 2019. Shortlisted writers will also be invited to participate in the readings.

Entry fee: £5 per piece of prose or poetry entered.

Important: Please ensure that you include your name, address, email and telephone contact details along with the title(s) of your work on a sheet separate to your work, as judging of entries is done anonymously.
