A New Niche for Nature

Anne-Mie Melis

06 August 2016 - 15 October 2016

Anne-Mie Melis, A New Niche for Nature

Anne-Mie Melis, A New Niche for Nature

The fourth and final flora commission in partnership with Oriel Myrddin reveals Anne-Mie Melis’ focus on the River Tywi and in particular the point at which land and water meet - where rare and endangered plant species and invasive plants compete for survival.

Highlighting the precariousness of this balance alongside wider ecological questions, she creates a new environment or ecological niche for plants to grow through the creation of an artificial substrate.
