Recruitment for Oriel Davies Gallery Trust & Board of Directors

Oriel Davies Gallery © Mark McNulty

Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown, Powys, is seeking a number of committed, enthusiastic people to join The Board of Trustees and Directors

Ideally they should have a genuine interest in the contemporary arts but in order to maintain an effective balance of skills and experience on the Board, we are particularly interested in applications from people who also have financial, fund-raising, business and marketing experience. We are keen to diversify Board membership and to achieve a broader representation, and we welcome expressions of interest from from all sections of the community. We would also like to see more Welsh speakers on the Board.

Board members are appointed on a voluntary basis only.

Oriel Davies Gallery is part of the Arts Council of Wales Arts Portfolio. It is one of Wales’ leading contemporary art galleries and has recently appointed a highly-regarded new Director, Steffan Jones-Hughes. Working with artists from Wales and internationally, and delivering innovative and imaginative programmes, the gallery has an excellent national reputation and a growing name internationally, which includes co-curation of the highly-acclaimed Wales in Venice Cymru yn Fenis 2013 exhibition ‘The Starry Messenger’ by Bedwyr Williams.

If you are interested, please contact Mary Napper-White, Chair of the Board, or the Director, Steffan Jones-Hughes for a preliminary discussion.
