Access to the building

The galleries, café, shop, education spaces, meeting room and all facilities are on one floor with level wheelchair access. Access to the building is through two entrances which both have wide electronically activated doors. The entrance on the park side has ramped/level wheelchair access. There are two blue badge holder spaces to the side of the gallery, located 10 metres from this entrance, reached by an access road beside the bus station. The main Newtown public car park and bus station are immediately adjacent to the gallery. Access on this side of the building is by a flight of 16 stairs. Alternatively, from this side, there is ramped access around each side of the gallery to the park side entrance.

Wheelchair accessible taxis

For wheelchair accessible taxis, please ring Dial-a-Ride on 01686 622566 who normally require 24 hours notice.

Accessible toilet and baby changing facilities

The unisex accessible toilet and baby changing facility has level access and is located just off the reception area. There is an emergency alarm in the accessible toilet should you require assistance from a member of staff.

Guide Dogs

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome in all areas of Oriel Davies Gallery. Staff are happy to provide drinking water for your dog. Please ask at reception.

Interpretative material

Oriel Davies provides a range of interpretative material including information panels, labels and leaflets, many of which are bi-lingual Welsh and English and information is available in large print text form from reception or can be sent via email as a word document. Magnifiers are available at the Gallery reception.

Induction Loop system

An induction loop is installed in the shop and can be made available for talks and events. Please contact the Gallery a week in advance if you would like to book this facility.
