Ash Spoon - 'Cawli'
Welsh cawl spoons, the first designs, were made in early 19th century. Used for eating cawl which is a chunky soup.
This spoon is based on those although it is not a copy, but typical in the way the bowl connects to the handle and the oval shape of the bowl.
Total length: 240mm - bowl diameter: 55-65mm.
Milk painted handle, tung oil finish. All food safe products.

"All of my spoons are hand-carved using traditional tools and techniques.
They are made from indigenous wild hardwoods of rural Wales, while the wood is still green.
Most wood is foraged by myself; broken branches on the roadsides, fallen trees in the woods, I always keep my eyes open and bring my folding saw when I walk the woodland.
