Florence Boyd - Herons

“The shape of a heron is a bird I was drawn to for many reasons, one of which is because of its unresolved classification of the species. I also saw a lot of herons on the estuary near where I live during lockdown and drew from them a kind of comfort in their freedom, and mostly solitary way of life.

In a playful way with these works I hope to explore the idea of a lost and precious object, using fabric which for me provoke feelings of happiness.”
