Saturday 27th November

Extended opening for Newtown Christmas lights switch on.

This year the town's Christmas light's switch on will take place next to the gallery in front of the town hall. The gallery and shop will be open until 7pm.

Coffee and cakes available from Hundred House Coffee on the patio.

We'll be launching a new project that evening too. Wellbeing in Green Spaces offers workshops themed with art, nature conservation and food. There will be taster activities on the night and a sign up point.


Saturday 4th December

11am and 12noon

Singing workshops led by Charlotte Woodford, Musical Director of Hafren Community Choir Everyone is welcome to join a workshop free of charge. Please book a place on one of the workshops as spaces are limited.

Concert with the Hafren Choir and workshop participants singing seasonal songs from around the world.

All day

Demonstrations by Montgomeryshire Weavers, Spinners and Dyers 11am - 4pm


Saturday 11th December

2 – 3pm

Steve Attwood Wright, one of our foremost hand loom weavers and currently showing work at the gallery will be in the gallery for informal conversations and demonstrations

3 - 4 pm

Historian John Evans is curator at Newtown Textile Museum. John will be giving a talk about the handloom weaving industry in the town.
