"A right bobby dazzler. A statement piece".

This is a slip cast red button brooch that measures 7cm across.

"The slip cast process involves pouring liquid clay into pre prepared plaster moulds and the plaster absorbs the moisture in the clay to form a shell on the surface of the mould. The buttons are formed over a few hours and are then removed from the mould, trimmed of any excess clay, their holes are cut and are dried flat overnight. In the morning the buttons are sponged clean and refined before they are finally dried over a few days then fired. Once fired they are then glazed and fired again. It takes days to make these buttons and they are a result of years of tried and tested mould making." CLB
