Shaping Art in Wales

From the 2023 exhibition Shaping Wales: David Bell and Kathleen Armistead, at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery - selected and curated by Dr Ceri Thomas.

Through the chosen works, the exhibition explored the curatorial work of Bell and Armistead whose rolls as the first two full-time curators of the 1950s and 1960s at the gallery led to the acquisition of many works that we still think of today as key.

The works they acquired for the gallery and their exposition in this accompanying book give us a fascinating insight into their own tastes and ideas, but also what was felt to be important to collect and preserve at that time.

Hardback with colour prints. 258pp
