Engage Cymru Meetup

You are warmly invited to join Engage Cymru Coordinator Sian Lile-Pastore, alongside colleagues from across the visual arts sector for our event at Oriel Davies.

This event is open to anyone who works in, or has an interest in, participation and learning in the visual arts.

Our meetups are relaxed, friendly, and inclusive. They are delivered bilingually in Welsh and English, and everyone is welcome to attend for all or part of the session. The session lasts two hours, and while no formal breaks are planned, participants are welcome to take a break at any time.

The aims of the session are to:

• Connect with colleagues from across Wales
• Learn and share more about inclusive participatory practice in the visual art

What to expect

The session will include:

• A creative workshop with artist Nicky Arscott, who will share about her collaboration with children from refugee families from Syria and Afghanistan, creating inclusive gallery spaces that broke down barriers and fostered community integration as part of the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Awards.
• An opportunity to hear from artist and puppeteer Jo Munton who will talk about her work and supporting spaces to be more inclusive.
• Time to chat and connect with other attendees throughout the session

· Opportunity to visit the exhibitions at Oriel Davies featuring loans from Contemporary Collection National Museum and Art Gallery Wales and contemporary responses.
