Make a tiny memory book!

Everyone welcome - beginners and all levels and abilities.

Re-use and re-cycle materials. Learn and practice first principles of book design and basic book-making skills.

Explore different artists' book forms - pamphlet, folding book, meander book, scrolls.

To prepare for the workshop:

We will be reusing and recycling materials in this book-making workshop.

Please think about bringing your own materials from home.

Materials must be clean and dry, and made from paper or fabric. They must be something that you like, have a connection to, or have good feeling about.

Here are some suggestions:

- paper or card packaging

- ordinary papers like receipts, envelopes

- scraps or off-cuts of art / other papers

- your own sketches, drawings or paintings, or other papers that you’d like to try cutting up to remake into a book

Only bring small things, we will be making tiny books!

Artist’s statement:

I make work about how we are, and about how we can be. About the joy, intensity and vulnerability of giving open attention to the world around us. About why we care, and how we care. I prefer to ask questions, leaving answers open.

My work is an offering to you, to create a space, an opening. You and I have much in common: we are here in the amazing, complex, painful and beautiful world, right now in this moment.
