Workshops run for eight weeks from Friday 11th September to Friday 30th October. 12.30pm - 2.30pm
Dates: Fridays September 11th, 18th 25th, October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
Join this 8 week course to learn the process of spoon carving.
Participants will create simple practical tools for the kitchen whilst entering the 'Spoon Zone' a place of meditative, quiet carving.
Each session will introduce participants to the joy of spoon carving - from wood selection, safe use of axes and sharp knives and design ideas and finally finishing and preserving the utensil.
WORKSHOPS ARE FREE and suitable for all abilities, no previous experience needed. We'll provide outdoor seating and a drink and work indoors when wet or cold. Participants will need to stand for sustained periods during the first few sessions when working with the axes.
Book in advance for all eight workshops.
IMPORTANT: Participants will learn the correct use of axes and knives in the first session enabling them to progress safely throughout the course. Please only sign up if you are able to commit to the first and all subsequent seven sessions.
Spaces are limited, if you have taken part in the course twice or more we kindly ask you allow newcomers to the course to take priority.
