Becoming Lichen walk 1.

6th September, 10.30am - 12.30pm

Starting and ending at Oriel Davies Gallery

This will be a walk to encounter lichen in Dolerw park, with movement artist Simon Whitehead and Ellie Baggett from Natur am Byth. Simon will share some gentle movement exercises and meditations emerging from his recent research, in which he attempts to learn ways of being and strategies for adaptation from these ancient and mysterious organisms. Simon will also share some recent lichen field recordings; invitations to listen to the world through lichen.


Becoming Lichen walk 2 (accessible route)

13th September,10.30am - 12.30pm

Starting and ending at Oriel Davies Gallery

This will be an accessible walk to encounter lichen in Dolerw park, with movement artist Simon Whitehead and ecologist Yusef Samari. Simon will share some gentle movement exercises and meditations emerging from his recent research, in which he attempts to learn ways of being and strategies for adaptation from these ancient and mysterious organisms. Simon will also share some recent lichen field recordings; invitations to listen to the world through lichen.


Places are limited, booking essential. All under 18’s need to be accompanied by an adult.
