FESTIVAL DÉCOR MAKING
Half term workshop for young people
WEDNESDAY 1ST JUNE. 10.30AM - 3PM
We are looking for a team of young artists, crafters and creatives to create festival style décor for a music event coming up in July with the legendary Rinky Dink Sound System and the Pedal Emporium
At this workshop you'll have the chance to work with professional décor maker Héloïse MacIntyre-Read to plan, design and make decorations from up-cycled materials. As part of the décor team you'll also be invited to come and dress the event on Sunday 2nd July
The workshop is free, please book in advance as spaces are limited
Suitable for ages 11 - 18
Please bring a packed lunch.
ABOUT THE SUMMER FAIR
At the Summer Fair on 2nd July, featuring the Rinky Dink Sound System and Pedal Emporium, there will be music with local DJs from Creative Stuff Newtown, a festival-style procession, music workshops, dance, craft stalls and workshops and food stalls.
The focus of the event is to promote sustainable ways of living and to give young people a voice. It is an Open Event organised by Open Newtown, One Planet Generation, Oriel Davies and Creative Stuff Newtown and funded by Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme
