Everything Changes, Everything Stays the Same
Join us for a series of workshops led by local practitioners and inspired by photographs from the National Library of Wales collection and beyond. We will be exploring our histories, languages and landscapes both inside and outside the gallery through painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, printing and more.
3rd May - History Hackers - Nicky Arscott
Using paper collage, photography and simple digital tools to play with historical images from the National Library photography collection, this session will explore what it means to create fake news, surreal scenarios and bizarre historical happenings...
17th May - Stop Motion Animation - Ben Faircloth
Join us for an exciting animation workshop using paper maquettes and modelling clay to create stories and adventures taking inspiration from moments captured in the photography exhibition.
31st May - Time Travel - Bethany Clewes
Let's travel back in time to visit the people in the images, what can we tell about them from their photograph? We'll whizz through to our lives now...then onwards into the future! In this workshop we will create personal time capsules with our own portraits, stories, messages, wishes and questions, for future us.
7th June - Shelters - Nicola Talbot
Playing with dens and shelters large and small, inspired by both inside and outside the gallery, this session will be an opportunity to unleash your inner engineer and to create your own mini structure to take home…
21st June - Moving Animals - Nicky Arscott
