Stories, Song and Harp with Welsh storyteller Mair Tomos Ifans - Daytime performance
For Dydd Santes Dwynwen
Mair has been a storyteller for the past twenty years, concentrating on presenting stories, songs, and the traditional practices of Wales.
Born and raised in Meirionnydd she works the length and breadth of Wales and further afield. In 2023 Mair brought Welsh legends to the gallery accompanied by triple harp and song. As part of this winter’s Croeso Cynnes / Warm Welcome programme Mair returns with the legends of Santes Dwynwen and Tair Chwaer Pumlumon – Three Sisters of Plynlimon.
The stories will find new connections to the work of Carolina Caycedo on show at the gallery as part of Artes Mundi 10. Carolina’s work centres on our rivers, and the threats posed to the life in and around rivers by human intervention. She also brings to our attention women who strive to protect the environment all over the world.
