Powys Arts Month has commissioned Kitsch & Sync Collective to perform Topiary Traumas for Oriel Davies. Working in partnership with Powys Dance, they present a visually striking, interactive, comedy dance theatre performance. The initial, simple, theatrical narrative will focus on three glamorous, 1950s Stepford Wives-type characters and there will be chaotic comedy choreography where the women chase the shrubs around the site with garden shears poised at the ready.

Powys Dance is a professional community dance company delivering workshops and performances all over Powys from its base in Llandrindod Wells and, pioneers of all things retro, vintage and wonderful, Kitsch & Sync Collective is fast building a reputation for itself as one of Wales most exciting, original and eclectic companies.

Topiary Traumas is one of three special commissions organised as part of Powys Arts Month, delivering new work for outdoor spaces during May 2014. The commissions provide opportunity for Powys-based artists to work in partnership with a leading arts organisation to present innovative ideas on a national platform and to create high quality arts within Powys.

Performances in the Park, next to Oriel Davies Gallery on May 5 at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm
