Using crewel wool, as the medieval stitchers would have done, you will learn Bayeux stitch, the laid and couched technique used to fill many of the horses, figures and motifs throughout the tapestry. You will also learn a selection of other crewel stitches as you recreate this winged creature taken from the original tapestry.

Suitable for beginners. All materials are provided.

Lucy Newman is an award-winning hand embroidery artist and experienced teacher. She won the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery in 2022 and teaches both traditional and contemporary hand embroidery techniques.
