British abstract artist Helen Booth will lead a masterclass on Saturday 16th September from 11am – 3.30pm at Oriel Davies. The day will engage participants in Helen’s working processes.
Sketching outdoors (if the weather is good), looking at the ‘micro’ – seedheads, grasses and other natural forms, and the ‘macro’, learning how to capture the essence of place.
“We’ll develop what we see into mark making and mono prints. Participants will come with nothing and leave with something”.

Helen’s Icelandic visits heavily influence the work in her major solo show We All Share the Same Sky. These experiences and her approach to mark making will inform the masterclass.
