Victoria Osburn-Jones

Victoria is an Appalachian hailing from the Southeast of the States. Now living in Wales, she finds herself amongst some of the same things that raised her: mountains, music, and connection to the creative arts. She holds a BA in History and Political Science from King University. She taught as a primary school teacher in Beijing and enjoys the art of making a latte. She has always been drawn to the art in all things.

She began volunteering at the Oriel Davies Gallery in 2024 and started working in the Caffi shortly after. You can also find her at the desk as a front of house assistant. The many places she has visited and lived helps her welcome people as they come to experience the Oriel Davies Gallery

“I immensely enjoy listening to music, reading and writing poetry and letters, and I love to enjoy a picnic in the park. My go-to coffee order is an iced lavender oat latte, anytime of year!”

WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT WHAT ORIEL DAVIES DOES:

The Oriel Davies welcomes all and creates community. Art, hope, kindness, and care thrive here. There’s a joy to walking through the doors, exploring the Siop, having a coffee, and viewing an exhibit or taking part in a workshop. My life is fuller and sweeter because I’m here!

A FAVOURITE CULTURAL ARTIFACT:

My most prized possession is a small glass bunny charm on a simple chain. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. I treasure it not only for its look but because of who gifted it to me. In all shapes and materials, my favorite cultural artifact is charms…in all their forms because they tell stories and have for ages. Where you’re from, where you’ve been, love notes inscribed inside…charms communicate with us through time and space. Displays in museums full of small intricately detailed metals and jewelleries that connect to us even now. I personally feel that I keep those I love most close to my heart with a simple necklace charm, how marvelous!
