Magpie x Hornsea
A Magpie (gifts) collaboration with mid-century pottery brand, Hornsea. They are a remarkable British design story involving some of the icons of British pattern and ceramic design and remains a much loved and influential brand, with a timeless appeal.
The Cat and Owl designs were created by John Clappison, chief designer at Hornsea, in 1967.
Magpie have redrawn these super cute animals from the original illustrations archived in the Hornsea Museum and created new ceramic moulds for cruets sets and money boxes, glazing them using authentic Hornsea colours of the period.As long term fans of Hornsea, Magpie have started to reissue and make Hornsea ware again, fully licensed by the brand.
