Their shared concerns are realised in work that explores the position and experience of the insider and outsider, using TestBed to challenge ideas through drawings, exchange and display of objects, parallel walking, mapping of locations and other works. They have chosen the Skyrrid Mountain, Monmouthshire as their site of investigation as they unpick what it means to be familiar and unfamiliar and the disturbance this causes.
During their time at Oriel Davies, the artists showcase work they have been making in their Suffolk and Powys studios, testing the relationships between pieces made in different geographical positions but focused on a single location – The Skirrid. In the spirit of experimentation, and after an initial shared collection and display of work for the first two weeks, the artists have chosen two further points* during the exhibition, when each will respond to the other’s work by altering the TestBed space and populating it with their own pieces.

2nd presentation 07 November – 08 December 2016
