Deniz Cengiz

Born in 2003, pianist Deniz Cengiz is establishing herself as one of the most versatile and compelling voices of her generation, with a career that bridges solo performance, chamber music, and visionary artistic leadership. Her early training at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts State Conservatoire in Istanbul led to a full scholarship to the Purcell School of Music in London at the age of 14, where she studied with Tessa Nicholson, William Fong, and Aaron Shorr. She now continues her studies in Leipzig at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” under Markus Tomas and Boris Kusnezow.

Cengiz has earned recognition at international competitions including Milan–Piano Talents, the International Bursa Nilüfer Piano Competition, and the Paris International Piano Competition. She has performed concertos with the Trakya Chamber Orchestra and Fortismere Community Orchestra, and her recital career has included debuts at Wigmore Hall, Duke’s Hall, and the Austrian Consulate in Istanbul. A frequent performer of Schumann, she is particularly noted for the depth and imagination of her interpretations of his works. Her artistry has also been shaped by masterclasses with Philippe Raskin, Jonathan Plowright, and Martin Helmchen. Chamber music is a defining element of Cengiz’s career. With violinist Ezo Sarıcı, she forms Duo Ekeš, an ensemble praised for its imaginative programming and commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, particularly Turkish composers and overlooked 20th-century works. Their international profile includes appearances at Wigmore Hall, Gregynog Hall in Wales, and the Austrian Consulate in Istanbul, alongside finalist recognition at the 22nd Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Poland.

In 2025, she co-founded the Pererinion Ysbrydol Festival Academy (PYFA) at Gregynog Hall, Wales. Conceived as more than a festival, PYFA is an academy and cultural platform that brings together young musicians from across the world to explore chamber music in its artistic, historical, and social dimensions. The inaugural edition drew an international cohort of students and a distinguished faculty including Milena Simovic, David Cohen, and Boris Kusnezow. Alongside intensive coaching and performance opportunities, the festival foregrounded questions of accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity, establishing PYFA as a bold new space for chamber music dialogue, mentorship, and exchange. The project reflects Cengiz’s commitment not only to performance at the highest level but also to shaping the future culture of classical music.

The 2025/26 season sees Cengiz build on her recent successes with a return to the Austrian Consulate in Istanbul, her Austrian debut, and a number of recital and chamber music engagements across the UK and continental Europe. Alongside these appearances, she is also developing new collaborations with contemporary composers and continuing to expand her presence at international festivals.

Charles Cunliffe

British baritone Charles Cunliffe is a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music Opera School, where he studied with Giles Underwood and Joseph Middleton. His musical journey began as a chorister at Peterborough Cathedralunder Andrew Reid, later returning as a choral scholar under Steven Grahl. He entered the Royal Academy of Music as an undergraduate, completed a postgraduate degree, and subsequently joined the Opera School.

In 2025 at Glyndebourne, Charles was a Jerwood Young Artist and in August was awarded the John Christie Award. The previous month he made his solo operatic debut, going on as Figaro in Mozart’s ‘Le nozze di Figaro’ under Riccardo Minasi. He also appeared as Kuligin in Janáček’s ‘Káťa Kabanová’ under Robin Ticciati. At the start of the 2025 season, he was awarded the Miss Miriam Trevaux Award, following his 2024 performances with the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus in both the Summer and Autumn seasons, during which he received the Wessex Award from the Wessex Glyndebourne Association.

On the concert platform, Charles won the2023 Leeds Song / Schubert Institute UK Song Prize and was a finalist in the 67th Kathleen Ferrier Awards. He has performed at the Oxford Lieder Festival in 2021 and 2022, appearing alongside Dame Sarah Connolly and Graham Johnson. Recital highlights include Richard Strauss’s ‘Letzte Blätter’ at Wigmore Hall (January 2023) and the world premiere of ‘I Wake’ by Roderick Williams (Spring 2021).

His operatic repertoire includes roles such as Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Britten), Barone Douphol (La traviata, Verdi), The King (Ariodante, Händel), Tobia Mill (La cambiale di matrimonio, Rossini), Superintendent Budd (Albert Herring, Britten), Guccio (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini), and Keeper (The Rake’s Progress, Stravinsky).

Harry Rylance

Harry Rylance is a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, and répétiteur who has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Teatro alla Scala, the Seoul Arts Centre, the Grand Hall of Budapest, the Royal Concertgebouw, and live on BBC Radio.

Recent highlights have included his solo recital debut at Wigmore Hall, winning the Kathleen Ferrier Accompanist Prize, performing at the Leeds International Concert Series with his horn trio, Trio Arisonto, and becoming a Samling Artist. He also recently went on tour with the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Antonio Pappano and has since been performing regularly as part of their keyboard section. Harry has released an album titled Obscurus with trumpeter Lucy Humphris under the Rubicon Classics label, and also accompanied for soprano Cassandro Wright’s debut album In The Twilight under the Linn Records Label. Upcoming highlights include recitals at Wigmore Hall in London and Park Avenue Armory in New York with soprano Liv Redpath, as well as working on the music staff and performing in Glyndebourne’s new production of Ariadne auf Naxos.

Harry studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Joanna MacGregor CBE and graduated in 2020 with a DipRAM for the highest mark in his year before being appointed as a Chamber Music and Répétiteur Fellow. He was also awarded the RAM Silver Medal and was elected an Associate of RAM. Since 2022, Harry has worked regularly on the music staff for Glyndebourne Opera House and for the International Meistersinger Akademie in Germany.
