Heritage Lottery Fund supports Carnival Reminiscence Project

Mawrth 2011—The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant of £20,500 to Oriel Davies Gallery for it’s ‘Carnival Memories’ project. Oriel Davies has devised the project which targets people of 60 plus, resident in Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire, along with volunteers of all ages, to find and collect oral histories and written accounts relating to local fairs, festivals and carnivals in days gone by. The project gets under way in March with the recruitment of volunteers. mwy >

TestBed Internship 2011

Tachwedd 2010—Oriel Davies Gallery is looking for a graduate or postgraduate to curate and manage the TestBed space at Oriel Davies, with support from the Gallery Curator. The purpose of TestBed is to support new and experimental work by artists based in Wales and the Borders. This position is an excellent introduction to working in a contemporary public art gallery. Outside IN - Disability Arts in the Mainstream

Hydref 2010—Outside IN is a pioneering visual arts project increasing the number of Disabled and Deaf artists working with mainstream galleries. The project has been designed and is coordinated by DASH, working in partnership with Oriel Davies Gallery, Mid Wales, The New Art Gallery Walsall and Wolverhampton Art Gallery to commission innovative and original Disability Art for inclusion in their programmes in 2010 and 2011. mwy >
