Toby Hay

Toby Hay is a guitar player and composer who is fascinated by the connection between landscape and music. His own music is inspired by the landscapes of the Cambrian Mountains, where he has lived all of his life. He is the founder of Cambrian Records. In 2021 he completed an MA in Music & The Environment from the University of the Highlands and Islands. Before starting work at the gallery, Toby worked for the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust.

Toby joined Oriel Davies as Marketing and Communications Officer in 2023.

I believe strongly that creativity should run through our daily lives as much as possible, and for people to be given the opportunities to explore that side of themselves in a safe and open space”

It is a very welcoming, relaxed space. There is no snobbery here. Art is for everyone!

A FAVOURITE CULTURAL ARTEFACT:

I’d have to say the guitar! In particular, my 12 string guitar that was made for me by Roger Bucknall of Fylde guitars. It has been a big part of my life over the last few years!
