Purpose of volunteer roles
To support paid staff in the art gallery and assist with artist workshops.
Main tasks
Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of tasks linked to running a busy arts organisation. At times they will work alongside staff to take care of artworks, the exhibitions and visitors. They will be part of the public face of Oriel Davies Gallery and they will welcome visitors and enhance their experience. Volunteers may support an artist and gallery staff as they lead a creative workshop session with members of the public, online, in the exhibition spaces or outside in the natural environment.

Training
All volunteers will take part in an induction session and will be given specific training relevant to each of the tasks outlined above. Oriel Davies is positive about helping individuals to develop their potential. Volunteers will be fully supported by gallery staff throughout their training.

Personal requirements/skills
Oriel Davies Gallery is an environment that is family-friendly, physically accessible and ideal for everyone to experience world-class, contemporary art. In our aim to give all visitors a high-quality experience, we are looking for individual volunteers who are open-minded, friendly and helpful and who believe in making art galleries inclusive spaces for everyone to enjoy. Our volunteers should be happy to talk about the gallery and the work on show when asked. Volunteers should be prepared to be flexible, to accommodate visitor and gallery needs.
