Responding to Wales’s National Contemporary Collections

Oriel Davies invites artists to respond to work in the contemporary collections held at the National Museum and Art Gallery and the National Library of Wales.

Artists from Wales, working in any discipline can apply. The commission includes producing an accessible activity and a creative response to selected work or to an artist from the collection. Both pieces of work will be shared digitally on Oriel Davies and Celf ar y Cyd website.

There is a fee to the artist of up to £1,800. The work must be completed by 31st March 2025.

The application process includes an initial conversation with the gallery, followed by a short proposal from the artist. Applications are welcomed from global majority artists, artists with disabilities and artists from the LGBTQIA+ community.

Interested artists should contact Kate Morgan-Clare, Creative Producer at Oriel Davies by email by Wednesday 15th January. The successful artist will be notified at the end of January.
