We are looking for new trustees to join the Board of Oriel Davies to help shape the future of the gallery.
We would like to hear from individuals from diverse backgrounds who have interests, skills and insights which are relevant to our work. You do not need any specific qualifications to be a trustee, but you must be committed to the values of Oriel Davies Gallery, including:
1. Equal and generous access to art and culture
2. Working with artists, designers, makers and other creatives for the benefit of our community and the environment
3. Unlocking hidden talent and promoting creative diversity
Oriel Davies is welcoming visitors to the gallery to experience and enjoy performances, workshops and community events this winter.
River Songs is an exciting partnership of voices, people, cultures and artforms brought together in response to the work of artist Carolina Caycedo on show at the gallery as part of Artes Mundi 10.

We make amazing coffee!
The cafe has become an integral part of the gallery and our programme once again. Our intention is that cafe profits support our programme, but this is impacted by the economy.
This has forced us to rethink the cafe and, from the end of March, we will return to the original model of only serving drinks, cakes and toast. This is because of the increases in costs for raw ingredients, staffing (we pay our staff a fair Living Wage) and energy.
The main galleries here at Oriel Davies are now closed in order to complete the building works required as part of our inclusion within the National Contemporary Art Gallery Wales partner network. This capital investment is funded by the Welsh Government.
Our shop and café will be open as usual during this period. Plus, keep an eye out for upcoming events and activities, there will still be plenty to do at Oriel Davies!

The gallery is having significant Welsh Government investment through the Arts Council of Wales. Almost £1m is being used to improve our infrastructure, security, environmental controls and replace the roof as we become a partner in the National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales, with the National Museum / Amgueddfa Cymru and the National Library / Llyfrgell Genedlaethol.
A big thank you to Mel, our community gardener and to our wonderful volunteers for all of their hard work.
The event has a jam-packed agenda focussed around the theme of ‘Standing out and fitting in’.
