So good to have 'Lates / Hwyrnos' back at the gallery!

Thank you to everyone involved in what was a special evening here at Oriel Davies. Great to see so many of you!

A wonderful way to bring 'Lates / Hwyrnos' back to Oriel Davies.

We had the fantastic Georgia Ruth, Emma Beynon and the Oriel Davies Poets, and a discussion with the Oriel Davies team about developments at the gallery.

Poetry Promenade

The evening began with a 'Poetry Promenade' with Emma Beynon and the Oriel Davies Poets. A short walk, stopping to listen to their poems inspired by the photographs from our current CELF exhibition Everything Changes/ Everything Stays the Same on the streets of Newtown.

Poetry at LATES

The poets then arrived back at the gallery and kicked off the evening with a poetry reading in front of the photographs that inspired them.

The evening was also a launch for a new publication. A collection of the poems and photographs from the exhibition Everything Changes / Everything Stays the Same, which is now available to buy at the gallery and we will be sharing more information about soon...

Poetry newspaper

A panel representing the gallery then took to the stage for a short discussion and Q&A of recent updates and ongoing projects.

LATES

After a short interval we were treated to a beautiful set of songs and music from the brilliant Georgia Ruth.

These were interspersed with readings from her ongoing blog Find our way back to the week of pines? exploring responses to works from the national collection and the current exhibition Everything Changes / Everything Stays the Same.

The evening was brought to a close with a brand new song written in response to Georgia's exploration of the themes of the exhibition, and we hope to share this with you soon.

Diolch Georgia and Iwan, we hope to have you back at the gallery soon!
