Cafe Tenant

We're looking for a new tenant to run our small cafe at Oriel Davies.

We're looking for a creative food genius to take on our cafe. As an organisation we are focused on social conscience, health and wellbeing, our environment and sustainability, entrepreneurship and equalities and diversity. We'd like to reflect these, with our partner, in the cafe.

Ideally we would like a sustainable offer that reflects our location, using local produce to create a sense of place. This means sourcing products locally and reducing the impact on the environment. Vegetarian whole food, local organic milk, Welsh roasted coffee, local cheeses, wines, beers and ciders from the area, local ice cream, fresh baked sourdough, homemade cakes and pastries.

It could be that the offer includes very limited menus, such as toast, soup, porridge, salad bowls, cake of the day and most importantly really great coffee. The emphasis should be on the craft of food. We are flexible and offer opportunities to create special dining experiences on occasion. There's also the potential to cater for weddings, meetings, exhibition openings and other events. There's potential to develop occasional evening dining experiences, delivery, collection.

The opening times for the summer are 11-5 Tuesday to Saturday. The size of the kitchen would lend itself to a limited offer that would require little preparation. There's huge opportunity to develop take away coffee, sandwiches, salads, ice cream and picnics for people to eat in the open spaces surrounding the gallery.
