Friday Night Lates @OrielDavies on the 6th of December

Synopsis:
The #Lates musical evenings at Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown continue on Friday December 6th with a visit of Rob Dunsford and Neve Spencer-Möller.

The free show in the gallery itself runs from 7pm until 8pm although the gallery and Relish cafe will be open all day and right up until the end of the gig. And you will get the chance to to see the current exhibition of Eleri Mills’ work.

Rob Dunsford is a singer/songwriter/guitarist living near Montgomery. Known for his warm voice and for mixing pathos with wry humour in his songwriting, he’s been gigging since 2005 and appeared on several albums - including an acoustic album curated by The Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt and a tribute album to the great Townes Van Zandt alongside The Magic Numbers, Shane MacGowan of the Pogues, Stan Ridgway and Devon Sproule.

Neve is a Welshpool native and has gigged locally, garnering great reviews. In 2017 and 2018 she performed at Under The Bridge, Chelsea Football Club, to a packed-out audience, and due to great demand, returns there this year. The maturity and expression in her voice and songwriting belies her youth and she cites David Gray, Van Morrison, Ray Lamontagne and Keane as vocal influences, however lyrically she is influenced by personal experiences and the likes of Joni Mitchell, Bon Iver and The Waterboys.

As well as performing solo, together Neve and Rob perform some of their original songs as well as covering various classics from Cindy Lauper to Johnny Cash in their own, stripped-down acoustic style.

The December show is the fourth #Lates musical event - previous shows have featured OJ Kryptic from Llanidloes, Newtown’s John Charles and south Shropshire based Bouzatina.
