Celebrating Volunteers Week

This week we are celebrating our volunteer team, recognising and giving thanks for the time and support they have given to Oriel Davies Gallery.

What do our volunteers do?

Our volunteers are involved in a wide variety of activities.

Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to, exhibition invigilation, workshop support, event support, and gardening. They are a key part of the Oriel Davies team creating a welcoming environment and enhancing the visitor experience.

Our volunteers receive full training and are supported by gallery staff at all times. Oriel Davies is positive about helping individuals to develop their potential.

Would you like to help shape the future of Oriel Davies Gallery? Are you interested in visual art and committed to making the experience of contemporary art available to everyone? Do you want to make a positive contribution to our community, to society and to the environment? We are looking for new trustees to join the Board of Oriel Davies to help shape the future of the gallery.

Interested in finding out more?

Complete an Expression of Interest Volunteering Form and return to the gallery, or pop in to the gallery, phone 01686 625041 or email desk@orieldavies.org to find out more. We can then invite you in for an informal chat and you can learn more about the volunteering roles available.

This is what Lowri, a key member of our team had to say.

"I joined the Oriel Davies Team as a volunteer 5 years ago. They welcomed me with open arms and have given me some amazing opportunities. I am now a paid member of staff. I feel included, accepted and feel an important part of the supportive Oriel Davies Family. My confidence and self esteem has improved tremendously since joining the team and I have developed new skills – particularly in IT, being involved with projects workshops events and opportunities in the Welsh language (mentoring and translating and conversing)."
